With this post, on the writings of Micaela Feldman y Etcheb\u00e9h\u00e8re, a Jewish Spanish Civil War brigade captain, born in the Baron Hirsch assisted Moises Ville<\/a> colony in Argentina, thebaronhirschcommunity.org<\/a> realizes the beginning of a long-held intention: to make this blog trilingual. Our goal is to present information in the languages that became the mother tongues of the descendants of immigrants who received Baron Hirsch’s support, English, Portuguese and Spanish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comenzamos compartiendo el enlace a un art\u00edculo, Identidad, g\u00e9nero y pr\u00e1cticas anarquistas en las memorias de Micaela Feldman y Etcheb\u00e9h\u00e8re<\/a>  (Identidad, g\u00e9nero y pr\u00e1cticas anarquistas en las memorias de Micaela Feldman y Etcheb\u00e9h\u00e8re) <\/em>por el investigador de estudios culturales Cynthia Gabbay<\/a>.  This article analyzes the cultural field or environment of this French-Argentine author, a daughter of Jewish Russian-Ukrainian immigrants who were some of the original settlers in the Mois\u00e9s Ville<\/a> farming community in Santa F\u00e9 Province in Argentina.  This community, where Micaela<\/a> was born, founded in 1889, was Baron Hirsch\u2019s first attempt at settling Eastern European Jews as farmers in the New World. Based on this experience, in 1891 he founded the Asociaci\u00f3n de colonizaci\u00f3n jud\u00eda<\/a> que gast\u00f3 miles de millones de d\u00f3lares en proyectos similares durante los siguientes 75 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Como nos dice Cynthia Gabbay, las discusiones en Moises Ville estaban llenas de ideas socialistas para construir un mundo mejor. Esto probablemente inspir\u00f3 a Micaela, quien luego de estudiar odontolog\u00eda en Buenos Aires se convirti\u00f3 en fundadora del Partido Comunista de los Trabajadores de Argentina. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luego fue a luchar en la Guerra Civil espa\u00f1ola como parte del POUM, el Partido de los Trabajadores de la Unificaci\u00f3n Marxista, un grupo disidente antiestalinista heterog\u00e9neo. Ella se levant\u00f3 para ser Capit\u00e1n de una brigada, despu\u00e9s de haber sido elegida para el puesto por los propios miembros de la brigada. Micaela escribi\u00f3 un libro sobre estas experiencias, Mi Guerra de Espa\u00f1a (Mi guerra en Espa\u00f1a) <\/em>publicado en franc\u00e9s en 1975 y en espa\u00f1ol en 1976.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antes de la Guerra Civil espa\u00f1ola (1936-1939) Micaela pas\u00f3 un tiempo en Berl\u00edn, donde fue testigo del ascenso de Hitler y en Par\u00eds, donde se uni\u00f3 a la Frente popular<\/a>, una alianza de movimientos de izquierda que finalmente gobern\u00f3 Francia desde 1936 hasta 1938.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despu\u00e9s de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, Micaela se estableci\u00f3 en Par\u00eds, donde vivi\u00f3 hasta su muerte. Sus amigos incluyeron a Julio Cort\u00e1zar y Andr\u00e9 Breton. En Par\u00eds, continu\u00f3 apoyando las causas antiautoritarias y socialistas.
